194. A little help from my friends

Well, this has been a crazy week. The first podcast. A fellow blogger saying goodbye. The birth of ChictopiaTV. I have a hundred ideas running around my head like children with Pixy Stix, but they'll have to wait as I head to Anacortes for What the Heck Fest, Round 2.

That is some good egg

But before I go I'd like to ask for all of your help. I have recently purchased a sterling silver money clip, and want to transition the rest of my walleted goods to a card wallet. The question is - which one?

I could go the obvious and established route with a Burberry, or take a slightly less travelled trip to Nice Collective. But then I thought why not ask you, my stylish and informed readers?

So please do add comments or send emails or just think really hard at me about card wallets that have caught your eye, and I will repay you with sunshine and mojitos.

Have a great weekend.

193. lc stops writing fops and dandies

As many of you already know, word has come down the pipe that lc is stepping away from fops and dandies to go to law school. As many of you probably also know by now, both Charlie and I went to law school and it didn't work out for us. Hopefully it is a much more fulfilling experience for lc.

All the best lc - the blogging world will really miss you.

192. How Good Life Can Be

191. Buttons = good | So Close But So Far

It seems that my psychotic obsession deep appreciation for buttons is starting to leak out into the world, as though my insane ramblings thoughtful commentary was becoming physical reality on the racks.

This weekend, while I was buying a Filson small field bag (more on that later), I came across two items that had me hopeful for the button future.

The first was this Lifetime Collective hoodie:

All details I had considered myself - buttons on the flaps and the collar.

And yet..why did they use plastic buttons the same colour as the garment? If you're going to be so clever with buttons why not make them stand out? As my local button purveyor quipped, these are the default man buttons - the safe buttons. As much as I'd like to disagree let's just admit it - when it comes to buttons, menswear designers take the bland road every time.

Or do they? A few racks down what did my eyes see but this offering from Rogues Gallery.

Wood buttons aren't going to set the world on fire, but full marks for trying.

190. Spare Change | $108 and $180

Yes, I do have $108 kicking around to spend on a Nom de Guerre cardigan. Unfortunately, I don't have the XL physique to fit into the ones Stel's has left.

However, I may just have to scratch up the cheddar to grab this A. Breton blazer by the Loden Dager team.
